Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport

After completion of customs and immigration formalities you will be met at the Airport by our representative/safari driver guide, transferred to the hotel where you will have your Safari briefings.

Day 2:Kigali – Akagera National Park

After breakfast, drive to AkageraNational Park. The park is set at a relatively low altitudeon the border with Tanzania anddominated scenically by a labyrinth of swamps and lakesthat follow the meandering course of the Akagera River. Upon arrival, check-in Akagera Game lodge. Have lunch and then enter the national park for an afternoon Game viewing.

Day 3: Akagera National Park – Game drives

After an early breakfast, have game drive in the National park. Akagera is home to a variety of game, it’s an excitingreserve and there are plenty of animals around and the birdlifeis quite exceptional. Mammals include a healthy populationof Elephant and Buffalo, plus 11 species of antelopeincluding Impala, Common Duiker, Defassa Waterbuck,Bushbuck, Oribi, Tsessebe, Cape Eland and the rare SableAntelope.  Hippos are present in impressive numbers in thelakes and rivers and Zebra and Giraffe still roam the moreopen acacia dotted plains. Afternoon, enjoy a boat ride at Lake Ihema.

Day 4: Akagera National park – Butare

After a leisurely breakfast, have an en-route game viewing as you head to Butare via Kigali (where you will have lunch). Proceed to theNyanza Royal Palace and National Museum respectively and then visit the Butare pottery activity.

The Ibis Hotel is located in the downtown of Butare in the South-East of Rwanda. This hotel belongsto the International Accord Chain Hotels and is very appreciated since 1942 when started its business. Its high services quality makes IBIS a very competent and reliable hotel.

Day 5: Butare – Nyungwe


After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for trekking formalities then depart for a hike into Nyungwe Forest in search of chimps. There is a lot more in Nyungwe than just chimps. Colobus Monkeys, Mangabeys, various other primate species and lots of forest dwelling birds will be encountered on the way. For those interested in botany, the flora in Nyungwe comes as an added bonus, lunch at the guest house. Afternoon, relax at the guesthouse or visit the nearby areas.

After breakfast, drive to Kibuye, a beautiful lake resorton the shores of the Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is the greatest Lakes in Rwanda and is in the Albertine (western) Rift valley, a part of the Great Rift Valleys. The lake is a 2650 Square kilometer freshwater expanse and the largest of all the lakes that fill the valleys of Rwanda. Spend the afternoon by the Lake shores

Overnight: Cormoran Lodge (Full Board)


Enjoy the morning boat ride at the lake (to be booked & paid locally) thereafter, drive to Gisenyi another beautiful developed lake resorton the shores of the Lake Kivu.

Overnight: Lake Kivu Serena Hotel (Full Board)


Spend the morning at the Lake. After lunch, drive to Musanze the main base town for Gorilla tracking. The drive is through beautiful rolling hills on a comfortable paved road enclosed by steep and green terraced hills along eastern Rwanda. The road winds endlessly in a countless number of twists and turns, and the common storm clouds lend a raggedly romantic panorama to this region.

After your morning wake-up call and breakfast, report to the park headquarters, for gorilla trekking formalities and briefing by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides on the gorillas’ etiquette. You will be assigned to a specific group of gorillas. Your trek will vary in length depending on which gorilla group you have been assigned to.After locating your assigned Gorilla group you will spend one hour in their company before retracing your steps back down the volcano slopes. Have lunch at the lodge. Afternoon, enjoy the scenic transfer back to Kigali.

Overnight: Lemigo Hotel (BB)


After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy Kigali city tour including Gisozi genocide memorial site, have lunch and then proceed to the Airport for your outbound.
